Gabe and Josh are feeling lighthearted and laid-back today, so what better film to discuss on Mousterpiece Cinema than the 1947 package film Fun and Fancy. The concept is simple: each week, I take a look at a different Disney movie and discuss it in-depth, solo (though I'm going to have guests soon, depending on the movie). The first episode was inadvertently timed to coincide with Pixar's latest movie, Cars 2. In the most recent episode, however, I talk about Spirited Away, the 2001 Hayao Miyazaki film that John Lasseter helped bring to the States under the Walt Disney Pictures banner. Next week, I'm going to look at 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. In short, the show's not just about the Disney animated canon. If it's a Disney movie and it's full-length, I'll talk about it at some point (yes, that means I'll even do the direct-to-DVD sequels!). Until now, I'd been hyping the show on a thread in the Entertainment section, but I'm going to do so from now in this blog. If you've already checked out the podcast, I can't thank you enough just make sure to tell your friends! Aside from being a Disney movie podcast, one selling point (at least to some podcast listeners) may be that the show's rarely going to push past an hour in length I'm never attempting a specific length for any episode, but I also don't want to expand the show just 'cause.Īnyway, if you're interested, you can download and subscribe to the show on iTunes, follow me on Twitter, Like the show on Facebook, and check out the show's blog, where I have a calendar detailing my plans for the rest of 2011. ![]()
